Our Story
"This is not just a job. It's art, it's love—it's who I am."
— Gevorg Mkhitaryan
A Dream Born in Dust and Light
I still remember the first time I saw a rough diamond transform—how a lifeless stone became a spark of light. That was in Armenia, my homeland, where I learned from the great masters of the Soviet cutting tradition. My hands were young, but my soul was already tied to the stone.
For me, diamond cutting wasn't just a profession. It was destiny.
When the Soviet Union collapsed, everything changed. The industry scattered. Some cutters went to Yakutia. Others to Thailand or India. I chose a different path: I came to Canada, driven by the dream of keeping this rare, almost sacred craft alive.
A Master's Journey to Montreal
I worked in Yellowknife first, close to the source—cutting diamonds from Canada's booming Arctic mines. But it was Montreal that called to me. A city of culture, beauty, and heritage. I became part of a small group of Armenian artisans who helped give Canadian diamonds their sparkle.
"Even today, when I touch a stone, I talk to it. I listen. It tells me how it wants to shine."
— Gevorg Mkhitaryan
Now, I work from my private atelier in Montreal's historic 620 Cathcart jewelry building. This is where GM-Adamantin was born—my life's work, named after the gem itself.
The Last of a Dying Breed
I am one of the last master cutters here. And maybe the last who still does it the old way: with my eyes, my hands, my heart. No conveyor belts. No shortcuts. Only love and precision.
— Gevorg
As Canada's diamond industry shifted to mass production overseas, the old craft faded. But I stayed. I invested in rare machines. I trained apprentices. I rebuilt what others abandoned—because beauty deserves more than efficiency.
A Heritage Too Beautiful to Lose

I believe Quebec deserves to have its own masters. Its own standard of excellence. That's what GM-Adamantin stands for.
Why My Work Is Different
Personal Touch
I do everything myself. From first cut to final polish, no one else touches the stone.
Soul Connection
Each diamond is personal. I treat every gem like it's a human soul, waiting to be revealed.
Heirloom Quality
I don't just make jewelry—I make heirlooms. Pieces that carry emotion, legacy, and light.
The Future, One Cut at a Time
I dream of teaching again—passing on this ancient skill. I dream of creating for artists, for couples, for dreamers. I dream of keeping this flame alive, here in Montreal, where art belongs.
Teaching
Passing on ancient skills to the next generation of artisans
Creating
Crafting unique pieces for artists, couples, and dreamers
Preserving
Keeping the flame of traditional craftsmanship alive
So if you have a stone, or a story, or a vision—we can shape it together.
Let me cut something not just beautiful, but meaningful.
Let's talk. Let's cut. Let's create brilliance.
